Plaza del Conde de Priego

This square owes its name to the ancestral home of the Count of Priego that once stood on this site and which was demolished in the 1970s to build houses.

In front of it, the white walls dotted with small windows belong to the neighbouring convent of Santa Isabel de los Ángeles, better known as San Pancracio.

The square is dominated by the monument to Manolete, who was a neighbour of the nearby Plaza de la Lagunilla. The monument is the work of Álvarez Laviada and was erected in 1956 with the proceeds from a charity bullfight.
